Snacking

My favorite type of snack is probably ice cream. The reason is because you can put all types of toppings on it and it is nice and cold that can be eaten at any time. It is also very filling of you know how much is needed.

The cold weather

I like this time of the year because I never really get that cold and we get out of school for like 2 weeks. I also like to go sledding with my cousins and then we usually go to there house and make some hot chocolate. Then we stay inside for a couple of hours and then go back outside to have a ice ball fight.

Technology

I think that technology has made my life better because if you need an awnser to a question that you cant find in a book it takes about 2 seconds to find it on the internet. Technology has also mad more things high tech like cars and machines. Without technology our economy would be even worse than it is now because we wouldnt have such effecient factorys.

If you had one wish

If I had one wish i would wish to be in the pro hockey league because i have always liked hockey and have always wanted to go pro. If I went pre I would want to be on the St. Louis Blues team so I could stay close to home and plus they have a pretty good team as it is. With me on there we might just get a little better too.

My Car

The reason i cant live without my car is because I need it to get to work. If i didn't have my car I would have to walk about 15 miles to get to work and that would take forever. Plus I need it to get to town when I need to. If i couldn't do that we wouldn't have any food or whatnot.

Significance of the election outcome

I think since Obama was elected it will be a good start to ending the racism in this country. Obama worked to get where he is now from nothing but just enough money to start the campaign. The first term of his election i think is going to be fixing the economy and trying to end the war. I think with a black president will be a great opening in our history and future for this country to try to get more competitive elections for now on.

Election Day

The reason election day is so important is because it determines the president of the united states and then determines what type of decisions that are going to be made later in the next four years. If we choose the candidate that is not best for the job we are going to be in a state of mishap and misery. If we choose the correct candidate the we might just be able to get out of the war and get our economy back up and running.

Americas Dependence on Foriegn Oil

America spends more than $200,000 per minute on foreign oil, and $13 million per hour. Of the $54 billion trade deficit reported in August, more than a fifth or $12 billion is from imported crude oil. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has called the higher value of imported oil a tax on U.S. citizens that has cost us three quarters of a percent of our economic output in 2004. The NRDC analysis considers oil demand and supply projections and how our current policy of oil dependence effects our economy and security.

Other countries will increasingly compete with the U.S. for the oil available to export. Consumption by industrializing nations will double over the next 25 years, from 15 to 32 million barrels a day. To meet projected world demand of 118 million barrels a day in 2025, global oil output would have to expand by more than 50 percent, 40 million barrels per day between 2002 and 2025.

With stubbornly high prices, the U.S. economy is feeling the drag of dependence. In the first nine months of 2004, the U.S. exported $72.5 billion for oil. Every day the U.S. pays out $390 million for foreign oil, with half of every dollar going to OPEC and a quarter to the Persian Gulf. While some of those dollars could make their way back into the U.S. economy, recent trends suggest that those paid out to OPEC will not be reinvested here. And OPEC countries are profiting handsomely from surging oil prices; in fact, they are expected to pocket $300 billion by the end of the year.

Arab OPEC states supply the United States with 2.5 million barrels per day, 25 percent of our daily imports. Unless things change the future holds more of the same. The Middle East countries hold two thirds of the world's proven oil reserves. By 2025, the Middle East is expected to supply 36 percent of the world's oil, with OPEC as a whole producing 46 percent.
